Scrap Metal Collection Services
What is Scrap Metal?
Scrap metals are any disused metals which are suitable for disposal, preferably thorough recycling or any other safe means. It is important that such items are taken care of, as metals are susceptible to corrosion, making them dangerous to have in commonly used spaces.
We collect all types of metals: Ferrous and Non-Ferrous
Ferrous metals are metals that contain iron, whether this is pure iron or an iron alloy (a metal compound made up of two or more metals). They are typically magnetic and most likely to corrode. Therefore, they are of high priority when it comes to collection and removal – it is important to dispose of them responsibly. Ferrous metals include:
- Steel
- Iron
- Scrap Vehicles
Logically, non-ferrous metals contain no iron, so they are non-magnetic and are less likely to corrode. This does not, however, mean that they do not pose problems when not disposed of responsibly. It is still important that they are recycled so that they are used where they are needed. Examples of these metals are:
- Aluminium
- Copper
- Stainless Steel
- Brass
- Lead
- Cable
- Nickle
- Bronze
- Tin
Dangers of Undisposed Scrap Metal
The most common dangers associated with undisposed scrap metal are injuries resulting from improper lifting, causing strains and sprains, as well as cuts and bruises. This is why we encourage you to contact Little Green’s specialists so we can do the heavy lifting for you. Therefore you don’t have to risk you health or time to remove scrap metals.
